We wish to bring to the attention of patients and members of the public that a new clinical commissioning policy has been developed and approved by the CCG. This is the policy for low intensity pulsed ultrasound therapy.
This new clinical policy explains that low intensity pulsed ultrasound therapy will not be routinely commissioned by the NHS in this area.
Arrangements are being made with GPs and hospital doctors and consultants, who are required to follow these policies when considering your treatment, for the implementation of this policy.
If you have any questions about whether your clinician feels you are an exception to this policy you must discuss this with your clinician and not the CCG.
