From Friday 1 February 2019 children’s audiology services for West Lancashire patients has been provided by Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
This change follows a recent serving of notice by both Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the former providers of the service.
The children’s audiology service encompasses:
- School screening service
- West Lancashire community service
- Community service at Hoghton Street
- Dr Ahmed’s clinic provided at Hoghton Street in Southport
- Hearing aid provision
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Trust and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals have informed existing patients about the transfer and Alder Hey are responsible for the mobilisation plan for the new service. Existing patients should have received a letter detailing what they need to know and any action they should take.
The lead manager for the transfer at Alder Hey is Jeanette Chamberlain.
