Members of the public are invited to observe the Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups which is set to hold its next meeting at Venue 53 at the University of Central Lancashire on 2nd March 2017 at 1pm.
This Committee is a meeting of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria which is held in public and chaired by Phil Watson CBE, who is independent of the health organisations. Following the meeting there will be an opportunity for questions from the public to the committee.
The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups will be responsible for making decisions about any future proposals referred to it by the CCGs. Any decisions that will need to be made will have been escalated because they require a Lancashire and South Cumbria approach, but most decisions about healthcare will be taken locally.
The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups is made up of GPs and lay members from each of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria. Chief Executives from Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackpool Council, representatives from district Councils, local Healthwatch are not members of the Committee, but attend the meetings.
Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria joins together 33 NHS and local council organisations, along with third sector partners, to deliver the NHS Five Year Forward View vision of better health, better patient care and improved NHS efficiency.
The committee will be held at Venue 53 at the University of Central Lancashire, Brook Street, Preston, PR1 7BQ on Thursday 2nd March at 1pm – 3pm.
If members of the public would like to attend, they are asked to contact the Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria Team on 01253 951630 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and provide details of any specific requirements they might have.
We apologise for the late confirmation of the venue as we have had to ensure that we hold committee meetings in suitable public venues across Lancashire and South Cumbria to enable the public to attend.
