A mental health workshop will be taking place at the Artz Centre, Birch Green Road, Skelmersdale on Wednesday 7 December 2016 from 12.00 (with lunch provided) – 16.00. The aim of the event being to bring together anyone with an interest in mental health, to come and help develop the CCG’s plans for mental health services. This latest workshop, a follow up event to two previous workshops that have taken place this year, where the CCG worked with local mental health service providers, and at this forthcoming event, they will listen to the wider views of people involved in and using mental health services, to help further shape their plans.
In West Lancashire there is a significantly growing number of its residents living with a mental health condition, such depression, stress, ADHD in children and dementia.
Dr Rosalind Bonsor, a GP at Beacon Primary Care and clinical lead for mental health at NHS West Lancashire CCG, said:
“With one in four people in the UK living with some form of mental health condition, this is a growing concern for the NHS and one that we need to prioritise to ensure that we tailor the right treatment and support for our residents.
“We really want anyone with an interest in mental health, from clinical professionals to members of the public, to join us at the Artz Centre to come and help further develop the CCG’s plans.”
Following the event in December, further events are planned in February 2017, where guests will be updated on what was taken away from this forthcoming event and developed further.
