- Self care
Stock up on medicines at home, especially to help with coughs and colds through the winter
- Online
www.nhs.uk for health advice, tips and info on nearest health services
- Pharmacy
Friendly, confidential, expert advice and treatment of everyday health issues. Local in your community, open early until late and you don’t need an appointment
- GP practice
Contactable weekdays and offers medical care for illnesses you can’t treat yourself. If you need to see a GP and it can’t wait, please contact the GP out of hours team (see below)
- GP out of hours
Local GPs with access to your medical history available during the evening and weekends. To contact them when your GP practice is closed, simply call your practice’s normal number and follow the instructions given
- Walk in centres
Treat all ages, open at weekends and there’s no need for an appointment or to be registered with a GP practice. You can receive treatment 365 days of the year.
Our local walk in services are as follows:
- West Lancashire Health Centre at Ormskirk Hospital
- Skelmersdale Walk in Centre at The Concourse, Skelmersdale
