NHS West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group has appointed Dr Peter Gregory to its board as a new GP executive lead, following an election process involving local GP practices.
In his role on the CCG’s board, Dr Gregory will share his knowledge and experience to ensure quality improvement and the best possible outcomes for patients across West Lancashire.
After completing his training at Liverpool University and working in several Merseyside practices, Dr Gregory sat on the board of Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) in Merseyside.
He was appointed partner at Parkgate Surgery in Ormskirk in 2012 where he continues to practice and in 2013 was appointed director of Owls Out of Hours GP service where he specialises in medicine management.
Dr Gregory said: “I am delighted to have joined the CCG and look forward to helping my new colleagues to continue to act on behalf of the local community. I am passionate about responsible commissioning and keeping positive outcomes for patients at the forefront of our decision making.”
Dr John Caine, chair of NHS West Lancashire CCG, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Peter to the CCG, who brings with him a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to commissioning. I think Peter will fit perfectly into our team which continually strives to improve healthcare across the region.”
