Members of the public are invited to the first Annual General Meeting (AGM) of NHS West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
The AGM will be held at Digmoor Community Centre, 23 September from 11:30am – 3pm in Birleywood, Skelmersdale and is the first since the CCG became responsible for planning and buying healthcare across West Lancashire in April 2013.
The event is jointly hosted with the Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) and is titled: Our health, our community: facing the future together.
As well as presenting on progress to date, the event will also include an overview of the CCG’s future plans and introduce its Facing the Future Together project. This is about improving the way health and social care services work better with each other and the voluntary, community and faith sector to benefit patients, carers and the community.
Dr John Caine, chair of NHS West Lancashire CCG, said: “We’re looking forward to sharing our progress in what I feel has been a very successful first year and also to be hosting it with the CVS, who play a big part in a lot of what we do in the local area”.
Greg Mitten, chief officer of the Council for Voluntary Services (CVS) in West Lancashire, said:
“This event will allow the CCG to continue its regular dialogue with the voluntary, community and faith sector and allow local voluntary groups and members of the public to comment on its plans for the future”.
Refreshments will be provided on the day. It is therefore encouraged that places are booked in advance by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org advising of any special dietary, sensory and venue accessibility needs.
The CCG will take questions on the day and would welcome any submitted in advance by using the above email address.
The full address for the venue of the meeting is: Digmoor Community Centre, Birleywood, Skelmersdale, Lancashire, WN8 9BW.
