Diabetes UK roadshow stops off in West Lancashire

West Lancashire CCG is supporting Diabetes UK’s roadshow to help members of the public understand whether they are at risk of type 2 diabetes.

As part of the roadshow, health experts will be at the Clock Tower in Ormskirk on Tuesday 22 October 9am until 5pm and Wednesday 23 October 9am until 4.30pm, offering anyone a free diabetes risk assessment.

Dr Bapi Biswas, local GP and board member for NHS West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group, said:

“We have made some significant progress around supporting those living with diabetes, and importantly helping raise awareness of those at risk.  This Diabetes UK roadshow is all about that risk.  Being over 40, overweight, from an ethnic minority background or having a history of diabetes in your family are just some of the factors that can increase your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.  As a CCG, we encourage anyone who may be at risk or is interested to find out more to come along to the roadshow for a free risk assessment.”
