Viran Medical Centre – patient listening exercise report published

For attention of registered patients at Viran Medical Centre

Following the patient listening exercise we carried out in June 2017, we have now published our report.

This report will be shared with local stakeholders and made available to patients at the practice itself.

We continue to work towards identifying a permanent solution, and will ensure all those impacted continue to remain informed and involved throughout the process.

Background information

Following the previous provider giving notice on the contract, NHS England (Lancashire & South Cumbria) and NHS West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) worked together to put arrangements in place to ensure patients of Viran Medical Centre had continued access to primary medical care services beyond Friday 30 June 2017.

As part of a procurement process, a new provider of GP services, Beacon Primary Care, was identified.  This arrangement involves a short-term contract of 12 months, with the potential to extend by a further six months, while more permanent arrangements are put in place.

Viran Medical Centre currently operates from a Care Quality Commission approved, medical grade temporary unit located in the car park at Tarleton Health Centre, approximately one mile away from the current practice premises.  This is a temporary arrangement while the commissioners work together to identify a more permanent solution.
